Olympic Soccer Schedule 2021: Live Stream, TV Coverage & Key Facts

For soccer or football lovers, be prepared for the excitement since the Olympic Soccer 2021 is going to happen soon. As confirmed by the officials, the event will take place from 21 July to 7 August 2021 in Japan. The matches will happen in various places including the hosting city Tokyo, Saitama, Kashima, Sendai, Sapporo, as well as Yokohama.

The country teams who have affiliations with FIFA can send their teams to participate in the prestigious sports tournament. That includes both the men ‘s soccer team and the women ‘s soccer team as well. It is a great thing since we have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacles coming from the talented male and female soccer players.

There are no age restrictions for the women’s soccer team. Meanwhile, under-24 players are in the men’s soccer teams. It might sound odd for you since the usual age restriction is under-23. However, we shouldn’t neglect the fact that the officials had to postpone the competition because of the covid-19 pandemic back then.

So, the participants who were supposed to participate were one year older. Based on such circumstances, FIFA decided to relax the restrictions. FIFA has also approved the VAR – Video Assistant Referee system at the Olympics to help more accurate decisions and monitoring.

For the first time, there will be the VAR in the 2021 Olympic Soccer. It is going to be interesting to see.
