Olympic Rowing Rules

The officials have announced the official rules and format of the Tokyo Olympic Rowing competition at Tokyo.

Rowing is completely different from canoeing. The rowers do not face forward. So, they don’t look at the direction of the movement. There’s a cox, however, who steers the boat and coordinates their rowers to row in the right direction.

In the upcoming Olympic event, Rowing has two main events: sculling and sweep. In addition, there will be a split of seven men’s and seven women’s events.

Olympics Rowing History

Olympic Rowing made its debut back in 1900 at the Paris Games. Since then, it has been the staple part of every Olympic edition from year to year.
