Archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics: There’s good news for all the avid archery fans across the globe since the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will host the particular events. Back then, the 2020 Olympics was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although it has yet to be over, the officials have confirmed the 2020 Summer Olympics deliverance along with the archery events.
The venue will be at Yumenoshima Park, taking place from 23-31 July 2021. There will be five events that consist of 2 men events, 2 women events, and 1 mixed events. 128 archers will be competing in these events.

2021 Olympic Archery Events
There are five events in total, as mentioned above. But there are three categories of archery events which will take place in the 2021 Olympic Archery:
- Individual events: There are a total of 64 competitors who will be taking part in this category.
- Men’s and women’s team events: The team event will follow the same Archery Olympic Round applied in the latter.
- Mixed team event: Mixed team event consists of male and female members of the teams. The competition format has yet to be released.
Olympic archery Rules
There is a set of rules which is disclosed for the event. Each archer has 20 seconds to shoot every arrow. But the shooting will be in turns. Archer will shoot one arrow in each turn.
Winning will grant the winner two points. Meanwhile, the draw grants each player one point.
The first archer who grants six points will win the match.
Olympic archery Bow
There are three main types of bows in the Archery world that the archers will use: compound, barebow, and recurve.
However, the rules of the Olympic Games force the archers to use a recurve bow.

Olympic archery History
Archery has such a long history since it has been in the Olympic Games since 1900. Then it took place again in 1908 and 1920 before being vacuumed for over five decades.
And then, the officials have been featuring Archery discipline in Olympic Games since 1972. Hubert Van Innis from Belgium is the most famous name in history since he attained the best achievements back then when competing from 1900 to 1920. He had gotten six gold and three silver medals.
Top Olympic Archers at Tokyo 2021

The standard Distance or range for the 2020 Summer Olympic archery event is 70 meters or 77 yards. Meanwhile, the indoor distances are 18 m or 25 / 20 or 27 yards.
The officials of the Olympic Games have mentioned that they oblige the participants to use the recurve bow for the particular event. With the recurve bow, the archer will pull the string in the direction of their face. They will aim at the target with the help of the sighting equipment.
